Belt and rank progression
Belt eligibility that calculates itself.
Set your criteria once. Attendance threshold, skill checklist, instructor sign-off. The system tracks the rest. When a student is ready, you see it. So do they.

How criteria work
Configure once. The system runs the math.
Each rank has its own criteria. The eligibility view re-runs every time a student attends a class, gets a skill signoff, or pays a test fee. You don't audit a spreadsheet. The state is always current.
- Class count since last promotion.
- Time-in-rank minimums per belt.
- Curriculum checklist completion.
- Instructor signoff (one or many).
- Test fee paid, waiver current.

Instructor assessments
Logged in class, not at the end of the quarter.
After class, instructors swipe through the roster on a tablet. For each student they mark which skills were worked on and how it went. 30 seconds per student. The skill checklist updates automatically and feeds back into eligibility.
- Tap-through workflow optimized for tablet and phone.
- Per-program skill list, not a giant generic dropdown.
- Notes attached to the student, visible to other instructors.
- If no instructor logs progress, the system surfaces that to the owner.
Belt test day
From eligibility to certificates without a spreadsheet
Belt tests should be a Saturday, not two weeks of prep. Here's the path from candidate list to promoted students.
- 1
Generate roster
Open the eligibility view, filter to ready candidates, send invitations to parents.
- 2
Collect test fees
Auto-charge the family on file, or send a one-click pay link. No chasing.
- 3
Run the test
Take attendance on the day. Note who passed, who needs more time, who tested for stripes only.
- 4
Sign off promotions
Bulk promote in one screen. Belts update in the roster, parent portal, and mobile app instantly.
Every style
One progression engine, your terminology
The rank engine is configurable, not karate-shaped. Whether you teach color belts, BJJ stripes, or level pathways, your curriculum stays yours.
Karate / Taekwondo
Color belts with criteria per rank: class count, curriculum signoff, time-in-rank, instructor approval.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
Belts plus stripes. Track each stripe independently, with longer time-in-rank gates and IBJJF-aware minimums.
Kickboxing / MMA
Level pathways instead of belts. Define your own levels, skill tests, and assessment cadence.
Custom
Configure your own ranks, stripes, criteria, and curriculum. Your style, your words.
